North Carolina Trip August 2007 part 1

My dear friends I am very aware that I have so much to get caught up on. The reality hits me daily. Can you believe that Caleb, Sadie and I had the most incredible trip last August and I am just now downloading images off the cards. Crazy? I agree, but that shows you that I put others first.
This image is of Carolina Beach North Pier. It is one of many images and stories that are on the way. Keep the season.

Spring is Back!!!

Wow!!! What a long time it has been since I have blogged. Shame on me! There are many reasons for the lack of blogging, one begins with June 26th last year, when I and my best friend were in an awful car accident and that pretty much summed up my entire year well into this one. We are both alive but in many respects altered. I have finally accepted the fact that I have been fighting depression and the reality that my body suffered quite a bit of damage from the accident. Going from a woman who could do all things non-stop to having daily pain was and is difficult. I am working on recovery and getting back to the real me, but time is the healer and so is hard work. There is so much to catch up on, but for now I will begin with 2007. Spring is around the corner and Winter is moving out the door. I love snow, but how my heart thrills at the tulips bursting through the earth with vibrant color while the budding branches are filled with song from the cheerful birds and to bask in the warm sunlight streaming through the windows.... yes, spring is here. With the arrival of spring the studio is opening it's door this year to Peter Rabbit and his friends. We have baby lambs that are cuddly and bouncy and love company, chicks that you just want to cuddle and a photographer who is brimming with ideas. The set is going to be fabulous and a picture will be up by early next week upon it's final completion.

This year we are doing a fund-raiser for Shoes for Orphans Souls a ministry of Buckner International. Your donation of the session fee goes to Buckner Intl. along with any new shoes we collect. I am so excited to be doing something for others and hope you will join me in having a huge turnout. Please join Spring Renee Photography in our efforts to provide shoes for orphans all over the world. Feel free to check out the website http://www.buckner.org/site/PageServer?pagename=boshoes_home
for more information on how you can help the orphans in need.

Come and play at the Farm March 19th-21st for Spring is here. Appointments are limited and don't forget to bring your shoes.
Tell them Cisco sent you.

Fountain Shop Fun

So I have been pretty busy since Gary's class. My mom brought my son Caleb home from his visit with grandparents and cousins. On Tuesday we decided to refinish our kitchen cabinets. What a crazy idea that was, but we had the job complete by Thursday and they look fantastic. For fun we went to our local Fountain Shop, where owners, Wes and Marcia have done a fabulous job of bringing to life a lost memory. I love being able to order a Cherry-Coke and stepping back in time, but most especially knowing Caleb will have many fond memories of his own Phosphate creations and the swivel chairs. Having camera in tow I began to capture some fun. I am putting to use ideas I learned in class and the fun I am having should be illegal. Just kidding, but I did put this page together in just a few minutes. Let me know what you think and if you are in the area stop by and we'll have a Cherry-Coke.

So, last evening I had the privilege to hear the Two Golden Rules from Gary Fong. They are pretty golden and I have broken them both. One can always sit and listen to speakers and get totally siked, but the real trick is putting it into action. Action is coming up...... be prepared all!!!!

The Adventure Has Only Begun

2006 is well under way with growth abounding. So, before Gary Fong's class I did not even know a blog existed and now that I have had some time to think about this Blog idea.... I find it very exciting. I may not travel every week, but I do experience life through the lens of my camera, ok, and my other 5 senses as well, but what a fantastic way to share with everyone and it is so easy. This year began as an adventure and a year of change. I went to Austin for my first PPA Convention. WOW!!! What an experience. I met many new friends, ate some great food, danced a little or maybe a lot, sat in eye opening lectures that were filled to the brim, hung out with a wonderful group from New York, viewed hundreds of competition prints that left me in awe and walked a very large trade show wishing I had more spendable cash. But most importantly, I came away knowing I am on the right track. I just need to do some serious fine tuning, so I am doing just that. Focusing on what I love in this profession and continuing to build on my foundation. As March quickly approaches I feel the pressure of my time line for certain goals, realizing some I might make and others might be pushed back. All in all I am optimistic for a wonderful year and I am thrilled to have an outlet to share it with you. I look forward to your comments as I continue to post, grow, and change.
